No food, no wines, no sauces, some actual historical events that I am vaguely or less vaguely familiar with - Selma I remember on TV. Stonewall happened while I was at Columbia, but riots were everywhere and it was a curiousity for me as a straight person. At the same time, as a straight ally who sometimes weighs in against homophobes and LGBTQ haters on social media (mainly in Latvia where I live), I often mention Stonewall as a turning point in the US. Apparently there are other narratives, would be interesting to get some insight when you are not regaling us with you culinary experiences.
